| Community Grants Program
Each year HPO provides limited matching grants for activities supporting the goals of the DC Preservation Plan. Eligible activities include survey and inventory, preservation planning, historic resource designation, public education and outreach, and resource pre-development planning.
The grants are made possible by an annual appropriation from the National Park Service. The next grant round deadline September 1, 2010 for fiscal year 2011
Eligible applicants for the grant awards include nonprofit organizations, individuals, or groups working in partnership with nonprofits, institutions of higher learning, and District of Columbia government agencies.
The 2011 grant application and grants manual are currently being revised to incorporate provisions of the new "Citywide Grants Manual and Sourcebook," approved by a Mayor's Order signed on December 30, 2009. Once this process is completed, the revised documents will posted and linked on this page.
